I have evaluated clinic mercury testing and other heavy metals for years now. This critical testing is not typically offered in routine medical care but it should be.
One problem with eating fish (which I believe is the healthiest food on the planet) is the heavy metals, especially the mercury. This can be especially harmful to pregnant women and small children. The levels of heavy metals vary significantly among fish species and organs. Muscles always possess the lowest concentrations of all metals. In most studied fish, the liver was the target organ for Copper, Zinc, and Iron accumulation. Lead is highest in the gills. Different species of fish show variations of metals based on age, geographical distribution and species specific factor. Farmed fish is a complete disaster. Click Here
