So what is a PFA? Per-and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances, known as PFAS. These are a family of thousands of highly toxic chemicals that never break down and are commonly used in nonstick cookware, waterproof clothing and grease-resistant food packaging. Some of these chemicals have been linked to serious health risks, like cancer and thyroid disease.
