So what is a PFA?
PFA stands for Per-and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances
These are a family of thousands of highly toxic chemicals that never break down and are commonly used in nonstick cookware, waterproof clothing and grease-resistant food packaging. Some of these chemicals have been linked to serious health risks, like cancer and thyroid disease. 

​Washington is on the brink of finally passing meaningful PFAS regulation reform, but the chemical industry is pushing back hard. We need to make sure members of Congress stand strong in the face of industry pressure.

THE PROBLEM:
Millions of Americans could have PFAS chemicals in their tap water and therefore, their blood. DuPont's Teflon has been linked to cancer, endocrine disruption and other health problems and the "replacement" chemicals may be just as bad. We find these chemicals in makeup, skincare, sunscreen, shampoo, fast food wrappers, microwave popcorn bags, stain-repellent clothing, stain-resistant furniture and carpets just to name a few.

Click this file to download EWG'S guide to avoiding PFAS chemicals. Stay away from Goretex Oral-B dental floss, and choose clothing that doesn't carry Gore-Tex tags! My favorite is SKIP the pre-treated stain repellent treatment on new carpet and furniture.
