LEARNING TO EAT BIBLICALLY CORRECT Just as I have been on a life journey so has my diet!
The one question I get asked all the time from my patients, medical colleagues and friends is "what do you eat? and "why do you eat that way?" I never have the time to give this whole diet testimony during health care office visits so here it is written out for all my patients and clients. I pray it helps some of you figure out where you need to be on your nutritional walk and why as a medical professional I hold patients accountable for implementing a healthy nutritional program into their lives. I started out back in 1989 giving up meat and dairy mostly because of the way animals were treated. My love for animals drove my research that grew into refusing to purchase products tested on animals and I became involved supporting the work of PCRM (Physicians Committee For Responsible Medicine, http://pcrm.org/research/animaltestalt/) and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals http://www.peta.org/) During my critical care nursing career and observation and study of sick patients as I took care of them in Intensive Care Units, I naturally grew into a more vocal vegetarian/vegan person. The devastating conditions I saw in these people such as diabetes, cancer, hypertension, stroke, gall bladder disease, cardiovascular disease, obesty etc., all causing hospitalizations were mostly related to diet and lack of exercise. When I started my family I had a desire to stay strong, healthy and full of energy every day for my husband and children. This path took me into ministry as a volunteer nurse and I began serving my community as a Health Minister with Hallelujah Acres and giving talks at area churches regarding the research reported on a 80% raw and 20% cooked diet that was having a positive impact on chronic disease. As the mother of 4 biological children I soon began a Home School Family Ministry when my first child reached the age of 5 and I sought the LORD as for what school my daughter should attend. The homeschool path proved to be a strong challenge and kept me home.....alot. The desire to continually live in balance and harmony as a home educator, mother and wife balanced with my educational expertise and intellectual desires drove a continual pursuit of advanced education in the medical field. Those long days and hours at home developed my passion for the biochemistry of food science and agricultural methods and their relationship to humans and our Creator who created it all! This grew into a passion for growing, purchasing and eating whats known as Raw Foods, Super Foods, Live Organic Foods and Vegan and Kosher Food designed by the one true God. As our family ministry of homeschooling grew and as we experienced success, the love for the spirit of "Adoption" was given birth into our family. Our Creator miraculously blessed us with the precious gift of twin spirits that have blessed our lives so much every day. I could never have the words to even try to help you feel this joy, the birth of Jessica & Joshua! As we began to understand and apply the WORD through the eyes of our Jewish Roots of Christianity, a deeper level of family ministry was given birth. We began to eat according to the TORAH TEACHINGS. Every moment in the kitchen brought us to remembering our Creator and thanking him for teaching us a deeper level of diet, blood chemistry, plants, herbs, nuts, seeds, sprouts, clean water, a safe chemical free home and property and a committment to God's creation and its ability to sustain us and our planet. Our home life and medical careers became a testimony to the importance of Organic Eco-Kosher agriculturally correct food; chemical, pesticide, hormone, antibiotic, and GMO FREE food. Inviting God to the family table with compassionate loving people seated at it! I am a Christian that desired to honor my Jewish born twins with Kosher keeping knowledge and a diet to embrace and cherish their biblical and cultural heritage. This act of faithfulness has prospered our family in every possible way. We will share this knowledge in our next book scheduled to be released early December 2012......"Inviting God To Your Table!" Living & Eating biblically, spiritually, biologically and nutritionally correct to nurture, prosper and heal your body, mind & soul. My diet journey has been one full of kindness, healthy and compassion and these attributes I have instilled in my children and built my nurse practitioner practice mission statement on. Compassion... it can move us to do amazing things. Comments are closed.
