A great big thank you to all of you who have "RAISED YOU VOICE" and told the FDA what you think about genetically engineered salmon. This is an untested, unlabeled and potentially unsafe food that is going to be added into our food supply. If you have not had an opportunity to tell the FDA what you think please do it now and click HERE. You probably don't know it, but you are already paying dearly for genetically enginered (GE) salmon. The FDA has already spent ONE million dollars of tax payers money to review the risks of GE salmon according to a Freedom of Information Act Reguest filed by Food & Water watch! Let's restore sound science at the FDA. Tell the FDA Commissioners to stop this abomination. Click Here. GE salmon will threaten public health, wipe out wild salmon populations, diminish biodiversity of marine environments and further drive the unhealthy trend of producting more of the fish we eat in overcrowded, unhealthy factory fish farms.
Legislation has been introduced in both the House and Senate and will stop GE Salmon in its tracks. S. .230 (Begich D AK) and H.R. 521 (Young R AK) Both bills need our support! Call President Obama at (202) 456-1111 between 9-5 EST. Tell them your name, state and ask that he direct the FDA to reject the approval of GE salmon. Encourage your friends to call your members of Congress and ask them to support S. 230 and H.R. 521, which will prohibit GE salmon.
